Program in Information Security Management (PRISM)

COURSE DURATION: One Year

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

• To provide students with the management knowledge necessary to succeed in an information security management role and to be able to make decisions regarding the development and implementation of Information Security policies & practices and related change programmes in complex and unpredictable situations.
• To provide students with adequate knowledge in the technical aspects of Information Security to support and promote the implementation of information security related technologies.
• To develop students' understanding of the context of information security in organizations and the change management issues involved in developing and implementing information security policies in organizations.
• To develop students' ability to function as a reflective information security management practitioner, capable of critically reflecting on their practice as a professional, and maintaining a critical awareness of current issues in information security.
• To provide students with the opportunity to develop their conceptual thinking. Providing a strong foundation for all aspiring students in Information Security.

This program offers advanced modules of study for those wishing to gain a deep understanding and insight into Information Security Management.

METHODOLOGY:
The program will be conducted in an interactive environment providing greater scope for discussions and practice. Emphasis will be on a highly participative style of learning through Lectures, Group discussions and Syndicate exercises.

ELIGIBILITY:
B.E. Electronics / Computer Science / Electronics & Telecom / Electrical / MSc –IT / MCA / MSc (Physics or Maths) with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university.

PROGRAM DURATION:
The Program will be spread across 4 Trimesters of 3 months each and will be completed within a year.

THE PROGRAM IS BEST SUITED FOR:
Engineering Graduates / Students seeking a career in Information Security Diploma in Electronics / Computer Science or IT/Electronics & Telecommunication with minimum 3 years experience.
