THE CISSP STANDARD OF PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT

WHY CISSP CERTIFICATION?

The CISSP certification is an independent and objective measure of professional expertise and knowledge within the information security profession.

In June 2004, the International Organization for Standardization's (ISO) United States representative, ANSI (American National Standards Institute), has granted certification accreditation in the area of information security under ISO/IEC 17024 for the CISSP credential. If you plan to build a career in information security — one of today’s most visible professions — with a globally recognized standard of achievement, then CISSP Certification should be your next career goal.

Statistics by different placement consultants and job portals reveal a growing demand for security professionals in the coming years. According to a recent NASSCOM-JobsAhead.com study, conducted by the research firm IDC, the demand for Information Security professionals is 18,000 and 60,000, in India and worldwide respectively. This is estimated to grow to over 77,000 in India and 188,000 worldwide by 2008.

The worldwide demand for Information Security services which was approximately $8 billion in 2001, is estimated to grow to $23.6 billion by 2006. This growth has fuelled the demand for Certified Information Security professionals. Security Certified individuals earned some of the highest pay increases during the last several years. The CISSP has clearly emerged as the key certification for security professionals. Also, a large majority of new security related positions offered by employers now requires a CISSP certification.

HOW CISSP BENEFITS YOU?

The CISSP credential is a key differentiator in the selection process for information security positions, new assignments or promotions. When you achieve the CISSP designation:
