WAYS TO SECURE BORDERLESS NETWORKS

Company networks are undergoing “de-perimeterization,” as online collaboration with partners, customers, telecommuters, and others outside the physical LAN becomes more and more important to doing business.

Users can now connect to company resources with a wider variety of devices, including smart phones, blackberries, and other devices. This creates a problem in terms of security. Network security is dependent on border patrol via firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems etc.  Thus in this new borderless network, the focus shifts to protection of the data itself. Latest technology that assist you in securing your data are:

·          Strong and multi-factor authentication

·          Cross-company identity management

·          Host-based security software

·          Application-level security

·          Policy-based integrity enforcement

·          Data-centric access controls

·          File-level encryption

·          Full disk encryption

·          End-to-end encryption

·          Rights management

This problem is compounded by the fact that increasing numbers of employees are demanding remote network access from their employers, as they believe working remotely improves their productivity and allowed them to maintain a better work-life balance.
